The Day After Tomorrow
There aren’t too many films that pick up on a story about a father’s love and devotion for his son. I love this story, and the film is well done.

Matchstick Men
Ridley Scott, one of my favorite directors (Alien, Blade Runner) takes on this funny film about a con man who is reunited with his long lost daughter.

No Country for Old Men
Another Cohen Brothers film for the list. I have to ask myself why I like this so much. The style of the film is very strong, the characters are rich, the pacing is wonderful. The story…a bit disturbing.

Telling a story by working backwards from the end — I love it. Not only innovative, but symbolic.

Crimson Tide with Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington. Hackman is one of my favorite actors and this is one of his best performances — a real son of a bitch.

I love Tom Cruise in this near future sci-fi flick. And I love the visual style of the film.
